Dimensions, taking measurements

How to choose the right clothing size?

  • The main parameter for blouses, dresses, jackets and coats is chest/bust circumference;
  • The necessary parameters for trousers are waist and hip circumferences

How to take your measurements?

  • Measure your chest/bust circumference with the tape measure around the high points of your chest/bust, beneath your armpits and slightly up on the back.
  • Measure your waist circumference with the tape measure strictly around your waistline.
  • Measure your hip circumference with the tape measure around the high points of your hips

Note

If you want to take your own measurements:
  • Stand tall and relax
  • If your measurement is not an even number (e.g. neck circumference is between 39 cm and 40 cm) take the greater number
Neck circumference
is measured at the base of your neck. Wrap the measuring tape around the neck so as its tail goes through the base of the neck in the back and coincides above the sternal notch in the front. When taking measurements, try to hold the tape taut (not tight).

Waist circumference
is measured horizontally around your waist (the narrowest point on your torso when viewed from behind). When taking measurements, try to hold the tape taut (not tight). Do not mess with the highest point of hips!
Back lenght
is measured from the base of the neck in the back along spine down to your waist (the narrowest point on your torso when viewed from behind).
